{{{Giant on the Bighorn}}}

{{{Music}}}

It rises here - the Bighorn River in central Wyoming - and meanders northward to Montana.

For sixty-five million years, the Bighorn raged against the land, changing as the land changed, scribing a narrow gorge hundreds of feet deep.

In nineteen sixty-five the Bighorn was harnessed by the U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Reclamation. The rambunctious river, undisciplined, often willful, was put to work.

The dam bears the proud Crow Indian name Yellowtail through whose land the Bighorn chases.
